To see my books on TV and on film
Hernaman hasn't posted any blog articles.
I am a former British Government Servant - Commissioner of HM Customs & Excise, Director of DSS and DEFRA. I'm married with 2 daughters and 2 grandsons. I've been writing as long as I can remember. I spent 30 years writing "Through Fire" which was my attempt to provide a modern English version of "War and Peace", influenced a little by "the Lord of the Rings". Subsequently I have written several follow-ups, but also - mostly as the result of passing a village called Barton Stacey - have branched out into writing detective stories, mostly set in HM Customs & Excise between 1964 and 1995, though I've taken my main characters a few years beyond that. I wanted to cover an area of crime that is rarely written about, while at the same time showing the culture and changes in HM Customs & Excise during that time, as a tribute to a now defunct Department and former friends and colleagues. I also run long distance, including the London Marathon in 2009; play the violin, guitar, mandola and banjo; compose music in various genres; and also experiment with acrylic paint.
(I have nothing further to add at this time.)
(I currently have no books for sale online.)
